You know the Five Minute Friday drill by now right? We all link up with Lisa-Jo and write. Just for 5 minutes. And then we share, we encourage and we pray. Won't you join us? This week it's WORSHIP.
Lately worship hasn't been a song or a dance. It's not writing out scripture or decorating my home. It hasn't been in small group or at church.
For me the most intimate moments of worship as of late are in the still.
For it is in those moments I remember and reflect.
You see, God has been wringing me out lately. Showing me the hard parts of myself. Exposing sin that I never really wanted to deal with.
Heck, I didn't even call it sin. It was always "just something I do".
I knew I should be better, try harder, do more.
But it was in the still that God whispered-
You can't try hard enough. You can't just "get your act together". Accountability isn't going to fix you. Crying in the bathroom of Starbucks might make you feel better but you're not.
YOU NEED ME. YOU NEED GRACE.
Oh that quiet. How he spoke right to my soul.
I can't, He can.
Every morning I wake up with this on my heart:
"Just today Lord, will you?
I can't. You can."
Oh His grace. Heaped upon a sinner like me.
